Reliability Crime Lab® 24-Hour Loss Investigation Facilitator Lab

Started Sep 4Fedor Circle

Service Description

Format * 10 live, one-hour sessions * Held every other week * Approximately five months from beginning to completion * No tuition for the live training * Each participant must purchase a copy of Do You Know Where Your 24 Hours Go? Field Guide. This training is intended to train the facilitator, answer questions, and provide guidance. * Fieldwork completed between sessions * Just like the Field Guide, this training is focused on application, facilitation, and communication not passive instruction. * Participants learn a method during one session, apply it on the production floor, and return with evidence, questions, and lessons. Course Agenda: 1.) Understanding the 24-Hour Production Window: establish the facilitator’s role and learn how the scheduled day becomes consumed by visible and hidden losses. 2.) Finding the Hidden Factory: walk the process, observe work, collect evidence, and identify where production time is actually going. VA, BVA, and NVA Activities. 3.) Separate value-added, business-value-added, and non-value-added work without blaming the people performing it. 4.) Classifying the Eight Types of Waste: translate observed losses into a common waste taxonomy that teams can recognize and discuss. 5.) Understanding Production Stops: distinguish planned, unplanned, minor, chronic, sporadic, quality-related, and performance-related stops. 6.) Building the 24-Hour Loss Picture: organize observations and data to show how individual losses consume the production day. 7.) Creating Effective Shift Passdowns: teach teams to communicate conditions, events, impact, evidence, and unresolved concerns across shifts. 8.) Writing Defect Cards That Drive Action: replace vague statements such as “the thing is acting up again” with clear, component-specific, evidence-based documentation. 9.) Choosing the Correct Response Path: Determine when a problem requires a Just Do It, troubleshooting, BDA, RCA, maintenance action, process improvement, or escalation. 10.) Facilitating the Investigation: Participants practice leading the process, handling cross-functional discussion, avoiding blame, and developing an implementation plan for their own facility.
