About
The Certified Forensic Specialist – Level 2 program is a structured six-week operator development certification that builds the technical knowledge, equipment understanding, and diagnostic skills required for effective equipment ownership. Conducted primarily at the machine, participants develop the ability to recognize abnormal equipment conditions, understand equipment theory of operation, identify common failure mechanisms, interpret failure fingerprints, and communicate abnormalities before they become functional failures. Throughout the program, participants progressively develop machine-specific inspection standards, establish normal operating conditions, restore basic equipment conditions, and expand their Autonomous Maintenance inspections using meaningful inspection points, abnormality criteria, and standardized escalation procedures. Each week combines classroom instruction with practical field application, allowing participants to immediately apply newly acquired skills to their production equipment. Based on the principles of Jishu Hozen Step 4 (General Inspection) within a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) implementation, this certification extends beyond traditional Autonomous Maintenance by integrating equipment diagnostics, failure analysis, condition monitoring, and reliability engineering principles. Upon completion, participants are equipped to serve as equipment specialists who detect deterioration early, reduce breakdowns, improve communication between Operations and Maintenance, and contribute to a culture of proactive equipment reliability.
