Thermal scan indicates elevated temperature at the coupling zone with distinct localized heating at the shaft junction. Vibration and sound signatures confirm early misalignment or coupling wear. This is detectable by both thermal imaging and sound, with faint audible humming and warmth. Though not yet a failure, if left unresolved, this may lead to increased vibration, reduced product quality due to erratic torque transmission, or eventual coupling degradation.
Recommendation: Schedule this repair during the next PM cycle. Perform alignment verification and inspect the coupling for fatigue or looseness. Monitor with IR and vibration data until corrected.

Localized heat centered on the coupling with gradation into both the motor shaft and gearbox flange.
Asymmetrical heat signature at motor shaft-coupling junction with peak heat radiating at the coupling hub.

Coupling misalignment or improper lubrication of flexible coupling insert.
1.) Elevated heat at shaft connection point
2.) Heat dissipates unevenly along shaft axis
3.) No external signs of leakage or smoke
1.) Laser alignment check of motor-to-gearbox shafts
2.) Remove coupling guard and inspect insert for wear
3.) Perform vibration analysis to detect angular or parallel misalignment

1.) Schedule motor-to-gearbox alignment verification
2.) Grease coupling insert if applicable
3.) Monitor temperature trend weekly using IR route
4.) Conduct vibration test on horizontal and axial planes
Thermal concentration suggests mechanical misalignment or improper coupling installation (offset or angular misalignment).
